 Stanhope Elmore High School Honored
Stanhope Elmore High School Honored

This group of kids is extremely active and seldom gets the recognition they deserve simply because we fail to brag on them. Their club received its official charter from Junior Civitan International in November 2013. Since that time the students have worked tirelessly to provide service to our campus, community, state and world.

Internationally, there are approximately 350 Junior Civitan Clubs, 26 of those make up the Alabama/West Florida district of which the SEHS chapter is a member.

In September, for the THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR, the Stanhope Elmore Junior Civitan chapter achieved Honor Club of Distinction status. This is the HIGHEST HONOR in Junior Civitan, and they were the ONLY club of the 26 in our district to achieve this recognition.

Some of the activities and projects they have participated ✅ or plan to host or assist with this year are
1- Hosting a welcome back breakfast for faculty/staff✅
2- Plan activities and crafts with special needs unit at SEHS
3- Read with students at CES throughout the year
4- Work the Millbrook Civitan tree lot
5- Lead the SEHS canned food drive every Thanksgiving
6- Adopt family and assisted with community Christmas giveaway
7- Host countywide book drives for Children's Hospital, deliver books, and tour hospitals ✅
8- Serve snacks at October ACT annually
9- Paint gym floor at CES
10- Raised over $1400 for fellow SEHS student battling cancer ✅
11- Assist with SEHS campus-wide clean up
12- Sponsor a booth at Millbrook Christmas Parade to raise money for Junior Civitan causes
13- Lead SEHS Relay for Life team
14- Assist the Millbrook Relay team in event setup

The 75 members that make up this year's club will be proudly serving their SEHS family and others in need and we look forward to their continued excellence in service to others.
