Elmore County Public Schools is pleased to announce that registration for First Class Pre-K opens February 1, 2018. First Class: Alabama's Voluntary Pre-K is part of the Office of School Readiness within the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education. First Class Pre-K provides effective, high quality early childhood experiences that prepare Alabama's children for school success and lifelong learning.

 

For First Class Pre-K, the registered child must be 4 on or before September 2, 2018. Registration is open February 1 –  March 23, 2018, and must be completed online. Online registration may be accessed at https://alprek.asapconnected.com.

 

Acceptance to the program is through a random selection process which will be conducted on March 28, 2018, in the Elmore County Board of Education Board Meeting Room at 8:30 a.m. and is open to the public. Families do not have to be present in order to receive a placement.

 

Elmore County Public Schools has First Class Pre-K classrooms at Coosada Elementary School and Wetumpka Elementary School. Children who are residents of Elmore County may be registered at either or both sites, regardless of school attendance zones. Transportation will not be provided by the school system. Children will not be denied participation on the basis of income, sex, race, color, national origin, or disability. There is no registration fee for the program; minimal monthly tuition of $40 per child will be charged.
