We encourage parent's, grandparent's aunt's, uncles, etc... to come read a book to the class or eat lunch with us. We also have visitors bring in display's from other cultures that we talk about or some bring something to show the children like a firetruck for Fire Prevention Month.
No for MCDP, ECDP, HCDP, but yes for WCDP for a fee.
If you have a special cercumstance and cannot get to work on time and your child is registered in our program, then we will watch your child and walk them over to the school for an extra fee of $10 a week. This is at the Wetumpka Program
we do take several trips throughout the year with the help of our parents and grandparents helping out with volunteering to drive for us. Parent's please remember all children must have a carseat or booster seat when we go on a field trip.
For our K4 program, we use the Scott Foresman Reading Street curriculum. The Elmore County Board of Education adopted this curriculum for k4-sixth grade so when your children enter kindergarten, they will be ready. Our K3 program is using Funshine Express Fireflies curriculum. Both K4 and K3 will be using Waterford Early Learning which is a computer based program that has Reading, Math, and Science curriculum. The children love to have their turn on the computer, it calls their name and has their picture on it and when their done with their session, the next person shows up and that child can tell the next child it is their turn. They really like that.
You may bring a lunch or you may buy a lunch from the lunchroom. School lunch cost $2 a day and breakfast is $1 a day. You may also fill out a free/reduced form to see if you qualify for free lunch and breakfast. We do have a refrigerator and microwave so we can heat up anything you send.
Millbrook and Eclectic Child Development Program's offer classes for two year olds. They have enough class room space to take two year olds. Wetumpka and Holtville Child Development Program's offer classes for three year olds and up, sometimes if your child is close to the deadline date and is two, but potty trained and can keep up with our three year olds and we have the room, then we will give them a try. The date is Sept. 2, 2010.
The full tuition price is still due regardless of attendance. The only discounted weeks are Christmas break, New years, and Spring break. We offer a low tuition cost just enough to cover salaries, snacks, and what supplies are needed to keep us running. We want to be fair to our parent's and keep the tuition at a rate that is affordable during these hard times.
